Fiber Optic Project Throughout Town

This is Brian, with Drover Construction, who will be knocking on doors ahead of the boring/construction to tell you about what is going on and see if you are interested in being connected once the fiber optic line is installed.

Fiber optic will be installed throughout the entire town, including Kyd Road and Colter Trail. This is a big project, it also encompasses the Wheatland area, Price Road, KOA/Vandolah subdivision, Bunny Trail and then down the Trooper David DeLaittre highway into town, as well as from Price Road to Old Town.  Just giving you a head's up!  To sign up or learn more, visit their website at https://wispwest.net/three-forks-fiber/ 

The first phase of this project within city limits will begin work in the alleys all down 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Avenues East from Oak to Ivy Streets. This phase is complete.

Permit 2 is working down the alleys running north/south between 4th and 5th then snake around between 5th and 7th Avenues East on Oak, Neal, Ash, Birch, Cedar, Date, Elm, Fir, Grove, Hickory and ending on Ivy. During this phase they will also hit Kyd Road and Colter Trail. This phase is complete.

Permit 3 is working down Main Street, and portions of the west side of Main and along the highway towards the rodeo grounds.

Permit 4 will complete the west side of town.

Brian will be knocking on doors, or leaving a door hanger, to tell you about the project and see if you're interested in connecting your home/business while they are in the area.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Three Forks City Council will hold public hearing on October 27, 2026, at 6:00PM to consider amending the approved Conditional Use Permits for both Three Forks RV and Three Forks Market & RV Campground (both within city limits) to allow both to extend their maximum window of six-months to be open annually, for an extension through December 15, 2026, to house Drover Construction personnel only while they complete the fiber-optic project in Three Forks.

This hearing will be held at City Hall located at 206 S. Main Street, Three Forks, Montana.  If the City has anything for review, it can be found on our website at https://www.threeforksmontana.us/packet-for-upcoming-council-meeting.

Zoning Issues

There are several Zoning Chapters being amended and some new ones on the way as well.  The Zoning & Planning board has been holding meetings on additional dates outside of their regularly scheduled 3rd Thursday of the month.  Their next meeting is 8/18/2026 at 6:30PM held at City Hall, 206 S. NOTICE is hereby given for a PUBLIC HEARING to be held before the Three Forks Zoning & Planning Board on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 6:30pm in the City Office, 206 Main Street, Three Forks, Montana.

Meghan Hay has made application to amend her CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT for property located at Block 37, Lots 7 & 8, Milwaukee Land Company #1, commonly known as 1 N. 4^th Ave East. Said application is to relocate the previously approved home-based esthetician business from the existing garage to the primary residence.  Here is the STAFF REPORT on this amendment.

The Three Forks City Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 6:00 P.M., and act on the recommendation of the Zoning & Planning Board.

City Council Public Hearings

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

The Three Forks City Council will hold public hearings on October 13, 2026, at 6:00PM to consider the following resolutions:

• Loaning the Jefferson River Flood Mitigation Project (SID #34 Fund #3510) a Sum of $600,000 from the Sewer Fund (#5310) with an Interest Rate of 3%
• Placing Outstanding Water/Sewer Payments due 6/30/2026 as an Assessment (Lien) onto the Property Tax Bill
• Noting the Assessment List of Delinquent Fees for Weed Removal, Administrative Fees and Penalty as an Assessment (Lien) onto the Property Tax Bill
• Naming an Unnamed Street off of N. Main Street / MT-2 / Highway Frontage Road to “Townsend Street”

The Council will also hear first readings of ordinances in Title 11 Zoning Code, Chapters:

• 4 Permits
• 6 Conditional Use Procedures
• 7 Appeals & Variance Procedures
• 12 Agricultural Zoning District
