Introduction:

The Three Forks City Court is an independent branch of government, constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes. The Court works diligently to efficiently and effectively accomplish the duties of the Three Forks City Charter (Section 4.01), the laws (3-11-101, MCA) and Constitutions of the State of Montana and the United States. The Court handles civil cases, criminal misdemeanors, and local ordinance violations. (See Section 4.01 of the City’s Charter for detail of responsibilities.)

Three Forks City Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, Three Forks City Code violations, and some civil matters alleged to have occurred within Three Forks’ city limits.

The Court is staffed by a part-time Judge and a part-time Clerk of Court.

hours:

Second Friday of each month, at 2:00PM

Closed on all legal holidays

payments:

To make a payment on a fine or citation filed in the Three Forks City Court - post cash bond, exact change, or write a check made payable to Three Forks City Court.

Delinquent Accounts:

Payments not made according to court-ordered payment schedules may result in driver’s license suspension and contempt of Court charges. An arrest warrant may be issued, and/or suspended sentence revoked.
